Ajrakh sarees are beautiful, and each print holds centuries of craft knowledge. Ajrakh is among the most valued textile traditions of India. They are well known for their elaborate handblock printing and natural dyeing techniques, featuring bold geometric and floral motifs. These sarees are handmade by artisans and have a long history and are gaining massive popularity in sustainable fashion talks across the globe.
We have sarees that look gorgeous and authentic whether it is for a cultural event, an office setting or an everyday ethnic look. Mirraw has an exclusive collection of Ajrakh print sarees online in USA in premium fabrics, colors and styles. Here you can find a saree to suit all preferences and occasions.
They are printed entirely by hand using carved wooden blocks. Each piece has subtle irregularities, which are the symbol of true craft.
Deep indigo, red and black backgrounds with dense geometric repeat patterns are the traditional design of Ajrakh.
A plain or textured base with Ajrakh printed borders is a more understated take on the craft. It's a lovely choice for those who prefer a minimalist aesthetic in a traditional outfit.
The fabric of an Ajrakh saree determines how it drapes, and each fabric lends a different look to the print.
Cotton fabric is the most traditional and practical base for Ajrakh printing. It is a breathable and sturdy option.
They are very soft and fluid with a natural sheen that makes Ajrakh motifs appear richer and more refined.
Textured and earthy linen is a great companion of the natural dye palette of Ajrakh.
Ajrakh on Chanderi feels light with a subtle sheen. It has a sophisticated and poised look.
These sarees are structured and lustrous. The fabric naturally elevates the Ajrakh print into a formal and festive vibe.
One of the most distinctive features of Ajrakh is its deep, earthy colors, which come from traditional natural dyes.
The most iconic Ajrakh color. It is deep, calm and visually attractive against white and red motifs.
These hues are warm and very traditional. They have been a part of this craft for generations.
Rust Ajrakh printed sarees look earthy and contemporary. They are gaining a lot of attention in the modern ethnic fashion scene.
Mustard is another traditional hue of the craft. It looks particularly warm and earthy.
A newer base color for Ajrakh, it gives a sharper and more graphic quality to the geometric motifs.
Ajrakh print sarees are more versatile across occasions than their heritage roots would suggest.
Choose heavier fabrics like modal silk or Chanderi in indigo or maroon that feel suitably festive.
Choose cotton or linen sarees in muted shades for a professional look.
You can pick breezy cotton and linen styles for laid-back everyday dressing that still look elevated.
Traditional Ajrakh in deep Indigo or red feels authentic for heritage and cultural occasions.
Smooth silk or modal Ajrakh print sarees make an ordinary day special without trying too hard.
The main thing to remember about styling Ajrakh print sarees is that the print is doing a lot, so everything else should complement it by being understated. The idea is to elevate the earthy shades of the saree.
To create a beautiful look that reflects its rich handcrafted patterns, an Ajrakh saree should be teamed with earthy accessories, like oxidised silver jewellery such as jhumkas, chokers or bangles.
Kolhapuri sandals and embroidered juttis give the right touch of ethnic charm, and a hand-crafted potli bag or clutch keeps the handmade touch. Finally, minimal makeup with bold kajal and nude lips looks perfect with these sarees.
